What happened to Fuelio
For about ten years, Fuelio was the answer to "what fuel tracker should I use?" — free, fast, with crowdsourced fuel prices. Then came the acquisition, and in 2023 the pivot: $4.99/month or $17.99/year, with the free tier restricted and no lifetime option at any price.
None of that makes Fuelio evil — developers are allowed to eat. But the deal changed under people who'd spent years building history in it, and the "Fuelio alternatives" search genre has been active ever since. If you're in it, your reasons are probably some mix of:

Moving your Fuelio history over
Fuelio's export isn't in FuelCap's native import format — so FuelCap ships with a built-in AI conversion guide: copy the prompt, paste your Fuelio export into any chatbot you already use, and paste the result back. The converted CSV imports through Vehicles → Add Vehicle → Import. The same guide handles exports from aCar, Road Trip, spreadsheets — anything, really. It runs on your phone; nothing gets uploaded to us.
